Film photography

A film camera, one lens and one goal: holding on to time.

About the project

I walk around with my film camera with a single goal in mind: holding on to time, helping my memory stay faithful, and fixing scenes in my mind. I have neither great technique nor deep knowledge of my equipment.

Trained in audiovisual as a secondary part of my studies, and helped by my practice of illustration and design, I put all my intention into composition and into what fills the frame.

Photographs

  • Omaha Beach under a stormy sky, wet sand reflecting the light, rocks in the foreground
Omaha BeachI was 16 the first time I went to the D-Day beaches, on a trip with my high school's European section, back when it still existed. I left feeling I had missed the soul of these beaches, that I had not sensed their past. Six years later, I went back on a stormy day. Fewer tourists, fewer guides, just Omaha Beach, which I could finally hear that day.
  • Brick towers of downtown Houston seen from below, against a blue sky and white clouds
HoustonSix months in Houston showed me a completely disorderly cityscape: between a history museum and a bungalow housing a local laundromat, there was always room for a vacant lot or endless roadworks. Only one rule reigned: towers were kept to the city centre, which traded single-storey houses for dizzying heights.
  • Louise leaning in a blue armchair, behind a table covered with a handwritten paper roll
LouiseSince we met at GOBELINS in 2022, Louise and I have never left each other's side. Not a single development project on this portfolio was made without her. Working together on code and project management has kept us from losing sight of each other as developers in the emerging world of AI and vibe coding.
  • Dark hallway of the Texas Capitol opening onto a bright rotunda, its floor reflecting the light
Texas CapitolIn the heart of Austin, the Texas Capitol defies some French democratic conventions, housing under one roof the Senate, the House of Representatives, the Governor and, although the historic room is no longer in use, the Supreme Court.
  • A person with long hair seen from behind, standing on a dim New York subway platform
New York subwayAs my dev projects show, I have a real passion for the RATP and urban pigeons, so what better than finding myself at the heart of a world not so different: the New York subway?
  • A person in a long dress walking away across a Texas parking lot lined with palm trees
Texas parking lotIf the United States are the kings of anything, I would argue it is parking. In Texas, parking lots swarm at every turn, spreading over areas larger than the shops themselves, sometimes taking up entire towers. One thing is never forgotten, though: palm trees and good weather.
