About the project

A tribute to the RER A, the Paris commuter line everyone loves for its punctuality (of course). Players build stations to defend the line against waves of ticket inspectors and sneaky grannies.

Enemies follow the map as a graph, using Dijkstra's algorithm to find their way to the base. Each wave is tougher and faster; the player starts with 1,000 credits, buys towers with different power, range and fire rate, and earns more by stopping enemies. The score is the number of waves survived.

Key points

  • Map parsed into a graph, shortest paths with Dijkstra
  • Game loop with waves, economy and tower targeting
  • Keyboard controls: space to start, P to pause, Escape to quit
